In addition to a national level squad, there are also two Globalbike chapter teams that are a little different than the average local bike team. We like to think that the advocacy of all the teams benefiting Globalbike actually change lives. The chapter teams share in the role to be the marketing arm for Globalbike and our job is to bring awareness to our simple mission; use the transformative power of bicycles to create positive social change in the developing world. Our contagious vision is a world where bicycle and creative partnerships provide those in need with access to the heath care and vital services critical to their collective prosperity. We feel that the “go-give” spirit toward bicycle teams is the way to go. We think you would agree that representing a cause is a powerful thing to do, and that is what we focus on.
We are always looking for individuals who cycle regularly, race local races, participate in some triathlons, or time trials AND who who want to make a huge impact on the developing world – all while developing a core group of cycling friends who ride and race together. Your typical Globalbike chapter team member is a Cat 3 or Cat 4 rider along with the same level triathlete. We don’t have a “required” number of races mandated. We just want good quality riders and characters to represent a great bicycle cause. We do, however, request that each rider get a USA Cycling license for the racing year. We also have a $20 annual membership fee that goes directly to Globalbike to purchase bikes. So, are you a licensed racer looking for a team or you are an event rider tackling some of the region’s challenging centuries or charity events, Globalbike has a home for you…
If you are interested in riding for one of our existing Globalbike Chapter Teams, then please email us with any questions, comments, thoughts, or for membership consideration.
