The Crossroads Classic is once again upon us. The event seems to get better and better every every year. Team Globalbike p/b Catoma has been represented very well in the first two races.
Mocksville
Rick and Sean lined up for the M 35/45 race with about 40 other guys. All the usual guys were there in addition too a few out of state guys. The race was tough and a break we missed managed to get up the road, but in the end Sean came through for a 4th in 35 and Rick took 3rd in 45.
I decided to double down and race with Dave and Tyler in the P12s. It was Mt Khakis all the time as they had 7 or 8 guys in the race. A break managed to get away with 2 Khakis and Aldo Ivan Fastivitch, who won despite being out manned. In the end Dave was the best finisher at 25th.
Statesville
Rick, Jim, Rod and myself lined up for the Master’s race. About 5 laps in the sky opened up and everyone got wet real fast. About 20 guys immediately dropped out and everyone left played sprint out of turn brake brake brake, sprint out of turn, repeat. A small break manage to get away, and I chased for about 5 laps. However, it was rather difficult to chase when I was coming up on lapped riders every corner pedaling at a much slower pace? The chase grouped of about 15 settled in and with 2 to go, I jumped hard to get a gap and held it to the line for 3rd. Rick won the the FS for a W in the M45!
Tyler, Dave and Craig lined up for the P12s. From the gun the pace was very fast and the course being less than a K and with lap times at :30-:40 seconds made in almost impossible to move I will say almost because Tyler started in the back and with about 20 laps to go was on the front. The pace shredded some 30-40 guys. In the end Tyler had a great move to get back on the front with 2 to go and held on for a 7th. Dave came in at 20th.
A Great night of racing for Team GB p/b Catoma.
More to come……
